Cão de Gado Transmontano
The first thing to have in mind when a pup of this breed enters our life is that he does not need to be trained to fulfil his guarding task, for this breed has always been used for protection purposes.
Seemingly harmless and always tender, the big-pawed, fluffy pup that leaves his mother after 50 days will naturally grow into a skilled protector of his territory and the goods.
These dogs have always been free to run the hills following the herds in a constant physical exercise and watching activity against threats to the herd, often covering large distances in a single day in search of better pastures.
